John Sarli is a Professor Emeritus of Mathematics at CSU San Bernardino. He obtained his A.B. in Mathematics from Brown University in 1974 and Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1984. His publications address the geometry of groups of Lie type as well as applications of hyperbolic geometry. He joined the MDTP Workgroup in 1999 and the following year became the site director at CSU San Bernardino, when an MDTP site was established there. Upon the retirement of Phil Curtis, founding member of MDTP, he took over as Chair of the MDTP Workgroup in 2002.
